TF2, CS:S, DOD:S Source Updates Released
Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source Updates Released
Updates to Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source have been released.
The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:
Source Engine Changes (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2)
* Disabled clients loading server plug-ins
unless the plug-ins are signed by Steam or the client is running in insecure mode.
* Added a checkbox to the Options->Audio dialog to control muting the audio
when the game window is in the background.
Counter-Strike: Source
* Fixed crash in custom maps using the trigger_camera entity.
Team Fortress 2
* Fixed another bug in the Steamworks internal stats reporting.
* Updated the localization files.

Unfortunately the Lua scripting community has found ways around that restriction, but I've written in the Counter-Strike: Source section of the Steam forums to (hopefully) notify Valve about the walkaround so that they can patch it or something.

Falsifying DLL signatures or bypassing the signature test is a VAC offense.
No further update is needed at this time.

Well, for anyone that missed it, Valve released another update temporairly disabling the checking of addons signatures because people had problems launching CS:S after the update introducing the check of signatures.
We'll have to wait for them to get it stable and enable the checking for signatures again. Then the danger is over

The signature checking is enabled again since the latest CS:S update
